Local Support

HIMALYA was born from lived experience

After many stays in Nepal — visiting local schools, sitting with families in their homes and building long-term relationships — one thing became clear:

Help children in Nepal attend school

Support elderly people in Austria with food and everyday assistance

Help families in Nepal create income by producing handmade wool gloves and caps

Support young nepali people in learning practical job skills

4% of the revenue from Himalya Wellness goes directly into the association and helps fund these projects

We work transparently and report clearly how funds are used.

Founders

Lukas Wiesflecker

Founder

Born in Austria, Lukas has spent many extended periods in Nepal over the past years. What began as travel developed into long-term relationships with families, teachers and local communities.

He visited schools, sat with families in their homes and experienced everyday life beyond tourism. Through these repeated stays, trust was built on both sides.

HIMALYA was created from this direct experience — to turn personal responsibility into structured, transparent support between Austria and Nepal.

Pooja Thapa

Co-Founder

Born and raised in Bhaktapur, Nepal, Pooja brings local understanding, cultural knowledge and practical coordination to the association.

With experience in teaching and administrative work, and currently studying German in Innsbruck, she plays a key role in bridging communication between both countries and ensuring that support reaches people directly and responsibly.

Her local roots and language skills strengthen trust and transparency on the ground.
